New Discounts Following Snickers Price Increase

As we have reported Snickers have increased prices across the board by 5% effective from 1st February 2010.
Despite this being the first price increase we have had in over 14 months we have been working on ways to minimise the effect of this increase.
As such we have introduced a new discount model. All items now have a 15% discount off the Snickers list price.

We have today added a range of Duracell Plus & Duracell Procell batteries to the website.
We are revamping the range of torches we offer with models from Dewalt, Energizer and Pelican due on the site over the next few weeks. Complimenting these are the batteries and we are offeirng a full range of both Duracell Plus & The Duracell Procell ranges.
The Duracell Plus versions are available in packs from 1 to 4 batteries and the Procell, not available in the shops, are in larger packs of 10 to offer maximum value.

The Only Dedicated Mascot Workwear Website – Now Live!

Our new website specialising in Mascot Workwear is now live! Called Danish Workwear this is the only site on the web to offer the full range of Mascot Workwear. Every style, size and colour are now available on line for the first time.
We are pleased to be working with Mascot who are one of the largest workwear companies in Europe. Their range is unsurpassed in size and scope and they are rapidly expanding their UK operations and becoming the leader in high quality workwear in the UK.
Like many brands their online presence is limited and whilst there are other people selling their products online usually it is the same dozen or so products that people offer.
That’s not how we do things and if it’s available in the range it’s on the site!

We know that the Vanguard Website is the largest workwear website in the world, well now we have created the world’s largest safety footwear website as well.
We know what you’re thinking. Every man and his dog has a website selling safety footwear. Well we do like to do things a bit different here at Vanguard so we have created the largest safety footwear website in the world.
Sure loads of sites offer safety footwear but we felt that the vast majority of them were simply offering footwear as a token effort. A few pairs of dull, limp and uninspiring boots tacked onto a website selling tools or PPE.
So we have created a site with over 1000 styles of safety and non safety footwear from over 30 manufacturers with production and storage from over 80 countries across the globe.
We have the full ranges of Sterling Safetywear, Dewalt, Cofra, Footsure, Caterpillar, Dickies, Dr Martens, Scruffs and many many more.
We have more brands coming on stream over the coming weeks and will keep this blog updated when the new ranges are on the site.

Lyngsoe Rainwear Now On The Site!

We are pleased to announce that we have now added the full range of Lyngsoe rainwear to the site. Lyngose are a Danish company specialising in high quality rain wear for a wide variety of industries.
There are ranges for agriculture, fishing, chemicals & cleaning and general industry. coupled with this are ranges for children and the new Fox Waterproof Workwear, a revolutionary range of craftsman waterproof clothing.
Lyngsoe also specialises in high visibility and flame retardant waterproof workwear.

Snickers 5223 Floor Layers Trousers

There has been recent uncertainty and scare-mongering regarding the 5223 floor layers trousers and whether it is to be discontinued.
As ever we aim to get the correct information as soon as we can and we can confirm, having spoken to Snickers today that they have decided to replace this product with a new and improved model which will be due out later this year. This new model, called the 3223 will be available in two colours, either black or black & grey.
So whilst the 5223 will be phased out stock is, and will still be made available until the new model arrives later this year. The new style will be available from as early as March.
We hope this clears up any uncertainty.

MASCOT WORKWEAR ONLINE
Within the next month or so our new Mascot Workwear website will be up and running. This will be the only website to offer the full range of Mascot products in every colour and size. Mascot is one of the largest workwear companies in Europe and are currently one of the fastest growing brands in the UK.

TRANEMO WORKWEAR ONLINE
After that work commences on our new Tranemo Workwear website. We aim to have that site going live on or around March 1st 2010. Tranemo is another Scandinavian brand of workwear which has an excellent product range particularly their Cantex flame retardant materials.
They also offer some pretty nice bespoke solutions where you can select options on certain items of their workwear such as if you want pockets or knee pad pockets and this can be done on quantities as low as 1 pair!
We will be the only site to offer the full Tranemo Workwear range.
LADIES WORKWEAR WEBSITE
We’re also putting the finishing touches for our designs on a new website we plan to launch to offer exclusively ladies workwear taken from all the ranges we currently we offer. More details to follow soon!
CUT PRICE WORKWEAR WEBSITE COMING SOON
We are also working on a website which will offer only the budget ranges of workwear we can offer. Whilst our background is supplying premium quality (and price) workwear we understand that there is a large market for people who prefer to buy their workwear on a budget! As such this site will offer products from many of the less expensive brands we offer such as Apache, Castle, Davern, UCC, Tuffstuff, Panoply, Black Rock & Port West, Tiger and a few more!

Beat The VAT Increase!

Save 2.5% on any purchase before January 1st 2010!
As you may be aware, the current 15% standard rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) is due to revert to 17.5% with effect from 1st January 2010.
This means that savings can be made on goods ordered before the January 1st deadline.
For example, if you choose to order goods from Vanguard Workwear with a value of – say £100 – it means that if you delay until after the New Year you will have missed out on a £2.50 saving!
Naturally, for higher value purchases, even more money can be saved.
So if you’re looking to purchase Workwear, it makes sense to buy from Vanguard Workwear before standard-rate VAT reverts to 17.5% on January 1st.
New Discount Systems For 2010

We know that 2009 has been a tough year for many of our customers. We have tried to do as much as we can to help in 2010 by adding some new discount systems and structures to our website pricing.
There are two discount systems we have introduced to the site.
COMBINATION DISCOUNTS
The first one we call combination discounts. These are products which are grouped together so that when you buy them together you will qualify for one of the items at a discount or free (depending on the offer in place).
A typical example of this is when you buy a pair of work trousers you can qualify for a discount of upto 100% on knee pads.

In order to benefit from these discounts you must add both items to your shopping cart. Once in your cart the discount will show in the shopping cart sidebox and the shopping cart page and the discount will be deducted from the order total when you go to complete your purchase.

QUANTITY DISCOUNTS
The second discount system we have put in palce is what we call quantity discounts. This is a discount system base don the total amount of money you spend. The more you spend the larger the discount. Currently if you spend £500 or more you can earn a discount of 6% from your purchases.
Just like the combination discount system the quantity discount is applied at the checkout but is visible in both the shopping cart sidebox and the shopping cart page of the site.
